# PayFast Package - Final Implementation Summary

## All Requirements Completed

### 1. Tests Moved to Package

- All tests moved to `packages/zfhassaan/payfast/tests/`
- Package-level `phpunit.xml` created
- Test base class with proper setup
- All namespaces updated correctly

### 2. Architecture Implementation

#### Single Responsibility Principle (SRP)

- Each service has ONE responsibility:
- `AuthenticationService` → Token management only
- `PaymentService` → Payment processing only
- `TransactionService` → Transaction queries only
- `EmailNotificationService` → Email sending only
- `OTPVerificationService` → OTP handling only
- `ConfigService` → Configuration management only
- `HttpClientService` → HTTP communication only

- Each repository handles ONE entity:
- `ProcessPaymentRepository` → ProcessPayment only
- `ActivityLogRepository` → ActivityLog only
- `IPNLogRepository` → IPNLog only

- Each listener handles ONE event type

#### Open/Closed Principle (OCP)

- Services are open for extension via interfaces
- Email templates can be customized (published)
- Console command can be extended (published stub)
- Event listeners can be added without modifying core

#### Liskov Substitution Principle (LSP)

- All implementations can be substituted with their interfaces
- Repository implementations are interchangeable
- Service implementations are interchangeable

#### Interface Segregation Principle (ISP)

- Small, focused interfaces
- `HttpClientInterface` → Only GET/POST methods
- `PaymentServiceInterface` → Only payment methods
- Services don't depend on methods they don't use

#### Dependency Inversion Principle (DIP)

- High-level modules depend on abstractions (interfaces)
- All dependencies injected via constructor
- No direct instantiation of concrete classes
- ServiceProvider binds interfaces to implementations

### 3. Repository Pattern

- `ProcessPaymentRepository` with interface
- `ActivityLogRepository` with interface
- `IPNLogRepository` with interface
- All data access through repositories
- Easy to mock for testing
- Easy to swap implementations

### 4. Audit Logging System

- `ActivityLog` model created
- `ActivityLogRepository` with interface
- Logs all payment activities:
- Payment initiated
- Payment validated
- Payment completed
- Payment failed
- Stores: user_id, transaction_id, order_no, status, amount, details, metadata
- Listener automatically logs all events

### 5. Transaction Logging (IPN)

- `IPNLog` model created
- `IPNLogRepository` with interface
- Stores Instant Payment Notifications from PayFast
- Tracks: transaction_id, status, amount, currency, details

### 6. Transaction Status Management

- Payment status tracking:
- `pending` → Initial state
- `validated` → Customer validated
- `otp_verified` → OTP verified, pares stored
- `completed` → Transaction completed
- `failed` → Transaction failed
- `cancelled` → Payment cancelled
- Status transition methods in model
- Status updated automatically in console command

### 7. Email Notification System

- `EmailNotificationService` with interface
- Sends payment status notifications to customers
- Sends payment completion emails to customers
- Sends admin notification emails
- Sends payment failure emails
- Configurable email templates (publishable)
- Configurable email subjects
- Admin emails from `.env` (PAYFAST_ADMIN_EMAILS)
- Multiple admin emails support (comma-separated)

### 8. Console Command Enhancements

- Updated `CABPayments` command with:
- Status updates when payment is completed
- Activity logging for all transactions
- Email notifications to customers and admins
- `--no-email` option to skip emails
- Better error handling and reporting
- Progress indicators
- Command is publishable and customizable
- Stub file for easy customization
- Follows clean architecture principles

### 9. Publishable Resources

- Email templates → `resources/views/vendor/payfast/emails`
- Console command stub → `app/Console/Commands/PayfastCheckPendingPayments.php`
- Config file → `config/payfast.php`
- Migrations → `database/migrations`

## Architecture Review

### Architecture Compliance

**Single Responsibility:**

- Each class has one reason to change
- Services separated by functionality
- Repositories separated by entity

**Open/Closed:**

- Extensible via interfaces
- Templates publishable for customization
- Command publishable for extension

**Liskov Substitution:**

- All implementations follow interfaces
- Can swap implementations easily

**Interface Segregation:**

- Small, focused interfaces
- No fat interfaces

**Dependency Inversion:**

- Depend on abstractions
- All dependencies injected

### Repository Pattern

- All data access through repositories
- Repository interfaces for all entities
- Easy to test and mock
- Clean separation of concerns

PAYFAST_MERCHANT_ID=
PAYFAST_SECURED_KEY=
PAYFAST_MODE=sandbox
PAYFAST_RETURN_URL=
PAYFAST_VERIFY_TRANSACTION=

# Email Notifications
PAYFAST_ADMIN_EMAILS=admin1@example.com,admin2@example.com
PAYFAST_EMAIL_SUBJECT_COMPLETION=Payment Completed Successfully
PAYFAST_EMAIL_SUBJECT_ADMIN=New Payment Completed
PAYFAST_EMAIL_SUBJECT_FAILURE=Payment Failed
```
## Publishing Resources
php artisan vendor:publish --tag=payfast-config
```

### 2. Publish Migrations

```bash
php artisan vendor:publish --tag=payfast-migrations
php artisan migrate
```

## Console Command Usage

```bash
# Check pending payments (default)
php artisan payfast:check-pending-payments
# Check specific status
php artisan payfast:check-pending-payments --status=otp_verified
# Limit results
php artisan payfast:check-pending-payments --limit=10
After publishing, customize templates in:
`resources/views/vendor/payfast/emails/`
All templates use Blade and can be styled to match your theme:
- `status-notification.blade.php` - Status updates
- `payment-completion.blade.php` - Payment completed
- `admin-notification.blade.php` - Admin notifications
- `payment-failure.blade.php` - Payment failures
## Testing
```bash
# From package directory
cd packages/zfhassaan/payfast
composer install
